The Archers of Ravenwood are an English free company comprised of mercenaries from all over Europe based in the year 1450. Henry the VI is on the throne and we are at the end of the hundred years war.
We live the history that the people of this type of community live. Ravenwood produces public demonstrations of the crafts that this community would have known.
Our mission is to provide patrons with a look into a mercenary archery encampment in the year 1450. This effort includes a recreation of camp life, chain maille crafting, leather crafting, period cooking demonstration, live steel demonstration and a historical information on the use of archery in and out of warfare.
Our web presence provides visitors with much of the same information. From period herbal medicines, to instructions on how to make your own chain maille armor. Our goal is to provide patrons with a lasting experience, long after they leave our encampment.
In addition to the encampment we provide an archery tournament that is both educational and fun for the patrons. Archers who qualify bring thier own period equipment and are in costume are eligible to compete. This is a great show and in itself worth the visit to our encampment.
